University administrators have noticed a nationwide increase in job-opportunity-related scams targeting international and domestic students. Often the scammers use the name of a highly respected and legitimate business and change one letter in the email address or web URL.
In addition to its efforts to keep fraudulent postings out of its systems, the USC Career Center’s first line of defense is warning and educating students. When the scammers cannot get into one entry point they find another, such as posting on Facebook or standing outside stores. To better educate yourselfand help others, please see the USC Career Center’s information page on job scams and report any suspicious postings using this form.
