Call for Applications: Research Methods in Sustainable Development Summer School, Paris!

February 28, 2019

Columbia University’s Sustainable Development Doctoral Program is pleased to announce its Eighth Annual Summer School in Paris, from 27 May to 31 May 2019, in cooperation with the Alliance institutions of École Polytechnique, Sciences Po, Université Paris-I Panthéon-Sorbonne and Columbia University. This year’s topic is Research Methods in Sustainable Development, including such topics as social and economic network analysis, text analysis, remote sensing, Bayesian modeling and spatial econometrics. Each day, the summer school will open with presentations by world-class researchers and policy-makers; the afternoon will be dedicated to practical workshops focused on building skills in quantitative research tools, as well as discussion groups for participants with shared interests.

The program is geared toward graduate students in economics, environmental science, public policy, and related fields. We welcome applicants interested in these and related topics. This will be an excellent opportunity for participants to exchange and generate new research ideas as well as build academic networks.

The applications for this year’s edition are now open – the deadline being set to 18 March 2019. We would be delighted to count some of your students among our participants. We will appreciate if you could forward this information to interested students and relevant departments. Please note that a select number of fellowships will be available for participants from developing countries.
