Virginia Tech’s Future Faculty Development Program — Call for Applications

August 30, 2019

Virginia Tech is now accepting applications for our annual Future Faculty Development Program, an intensive three-day program for advanced doctoral candidates and postdoctoral scholars traditionally underrepresented in their fields who are interested in entering academic careers in the next year. This program is a pipeline to help recruit historically underrepresented minority faculty to Virginia Tech, including African-Americans, Hispanics/Latinx, American Indian/Alaska Natives, and Pacific Islanders.

November 10-13, we plan to bring a cohort of approximately 40 to our main campus in Blacksburg, VA for this all-expense paid workshop. The program includes interaction with host departments, workshops such as negotiating job offers and adjusting to life as a new faculty member, and plenty of opportunities to network with faculty in research areas of interest to our participants. Attached is further information about this program, and you can also visit our website @ https://www.inclusive.vt.edu/Programs/future_faculty.html.

The deadline for applications to our November 2019 program is September 15, 2019.
