Optional Practical Training (OPT): The GAPP Office will begin signing OPT I-20 Requests for Spring 2018 graduating international students on Monday, February 5, 2018. Please review GAPP’s OPT information provided on the GAPP website in addition to the OIS Post-Completion OPT page.
MS Students: Your Application to Graduate must be processed by your major department and STARS report updated before a GAPP advisor can sign your OPT I-20 Request form.
PhD Students: You must submit the PhD Verification of Completion form to the GAPP Office with your OPT I-20 Request Form.
OIS will begin accepting OPT I-20 Requests on Friday, February 9, 2018. All OPT applicants must view the OPT Instructions prior to submitting their OPT I-20 Request to OIS.
Important reminders about OPT:
- Job offer is not required to apply
- Processing time is approximately 3 months.
- OIS recommends graduates apply for OPT as soon as possible.
- There is no expedite process
