Eligible Viterbi undergraduate graduates will receive honor cords from the Viterbi School of Engineering in April. Pickup details will be emailed directly to eligible students. Please note that honor cords are available to undergraduate graduates only.

Honor cords are only given to undergraduate students who have a minimum overall GPA of 3.5. Students must meet these averages, for both USC coursework and on combined transferred and USC coursework. University honors is then determined by either the USC GPA or the combined USC and transfer GPA, whichever is lower.

Viterbi students who graduate Fall 2026, Spring 2027, or Summer 2027 automatically are invited to participate in the May 2027 Viterbi Commencement Ceremonies. 

Please complete the Out-of-Cycle form if you are requesting to participate in the May 2027 Viterbi Commencement Ceremonies and did NOT graduate Fall 2026, Spring 2027, or Summer 2027. 

2027 Out-of-Cycle Request Form will be added here in January 2027.

Stoles, or sashes, are optional purchases and can be ordered with the USC logo or embroidered university seal, and can be customized with fraternity/sorority crests, graduation year, or other commemorative marks. Stoles can be purchased at the USC Bookstore or online.  

The El Rodeo – USC’s yearbook is one of the oldest student organizations on campus, publishing since 1899.  Through the El Rodeo website, students can order a copy of the year, purchase a dedication, or learn about how to get their portraits taken. Please visit El Rodeo. 

All guests will go through a metal detector to enter the Galen Center. Please be advised of the Galen Center guest policy.

Clear Bag Policy: To provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite guest entry into the venue, Galen Center enforces a clear bag policy that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into the arena for all events (one clear bag no larger than 12” x 6” x 12” per person).

Please leave all strollers at the stroller check-in inside the Galen Center main lobby. Due to venue policy, strollers are not allowed in the venue seating area.

To help everyone enjoy the ceremony safely, please remain seated once the procession begins. For fire safety, guests may not stand or gather in aisles or open spaces. Large video screens will be available so family and friends can comfortably watch graduates as they make their way to the stage.

Professional photographers GradImages will photograph graduates during the Viterbi Commencement Ceremony, including a posed photo and a photo as each graduate receives their diploma. After the ceremony, GradImages will email graduates with information on how to view and order their photos. Visit GradImages for more information.

Commencement day can be busy, so we recommend using public transportation to help avoid traffic and delays. Accessible seating, parking, mobility assistance, and other accommodations may be available. Please review the USC Commencement Accessibility Information page and graduates may indicate their guests needs in advance when they register for their Viterbi ceremony.

Tickets are required to attend the Main Stage Commencement Ceremony at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Eligible graduates who have completed their Viterbi Ceremony registration will receive Main Stage Ceremony tickets automatically populated in their USC ticketing accounts by the end of the day on Wednesday, April 21. 

Eligible graduates will automatically receive one ticket for themselves as well as 10 guest tickets at no charge for the Main Stage Commencement Ceremony at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

No tickets are required for the Viterbi Ceremony.
