Do you have trouble putting the words of others into your own? Have you ever been told that your work does not appear to be your own? Learn how to effectively put other’s ideas and words into your own writing for academic and professional purposes. This workshop will provide students with ways to avoid accusations of plagiarism and intellectual dishonesty and further introduce strategies to properly synthesize and paraphrase.
American Language Institute faculty, Nina Kang and Richard Jones, will lead this session and answer the questions students may be too afraid to ask their professors. This session is a safe space for all questions and concerns. Nina and Richard will also explain the common cultural misconceptions surrounding plagiarism.
