Celebrating International Women’s Day

March 2, 2019

USC Viterbi Graduate and Professional Programs Office is commemorating International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2019. We are recognizing the contributions of women all around the world, especially our USC graduate women engineers. While we honor and reflect on the achievements of women, International Women’s Day is also a day to call for change to achieve gender equality and empower all women.  Currently, women are underrepresented in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) industries and universities. Half of the total U.S. college-educated workforce is women, but only 28% of women work in the science and engineer field. Today, women in STEM are working to break barriers and innovate for a change. There are gender gaps to be closed and glass ceilings to be broken, and USC Viterbi GAPP is here to support and advocate our women engineers.
