USC PressFriends Event - Saturday February 10, 2018

Join us for a fun day helping local 4th and 5th grade students learn about Engineering, Health, Communication, and Journalism. This is a FREE event for elementary school groups and is aimed at 4th and 5th graders. The elementary student reporters will hear from student speakers in the morning, have an arts activity after lunch, and then write an article for USC Kids News before leaving. Every student who completes an article will be pub-lished in USC Kids News and will receive a copy of the newspaper.

Volunteer Mentors Needed

We are looking for engineering masters and doctoral students to volunteer as mentors for the 4th and 5th grade students. Volunteer duties include:

  • Helping 4th-5th grade students with their writing
  • Please be available from 8:30am to 2:45pm. Report to SGM 123 at 8:30am for brief instructions and assignments. Students will be in either ASC or OHE classrooms.
  • Subway Lunch provided (engineering quad)
